Captain America: Homecoming #1 Review by (March 28, 2014)
Review: Pretty conventional product designed to scam readers out of four bucks. Simplistic story, pedestrian action scenes, nothing really interesting. Does this tie into the upcoming Cap or Avengers movie? Who would remember this comic five minutes after reading it? This is the kind of thing that would have been buried at the back of an annual in the 80s or 90s.

Comments: One-shot comic issue ties in with the Marvel Movie Universe. Issue also includes a reprint of CAPTAIN AMERICA #117 (Sept. 1969), introducing the Falcon.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Captain America: Homecoming #1 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Steve Rogers takes Natasha Romanova on a tour of his old neighborhood in Brooklyn. They are spotted by agents of the criminal group the Cadre and followed; they duck into an alley and emerge as Captain America and the Black Widow and take out their pursuers. Realizing this is part of a plot to kidnap noted scientist Professor Amant, they try to contact SHIELD but the signal is jammed. An EMT team nearby turns out to be baddies too. They fight baddies and track the radio jamming signal to a nearby radio station, crash in through the roof and clobber everybody. Meanwhile, the limo carrying the Professor is attacked by the gang. Cap leaps into action, bashes heads, and saves the scientist. Professor Amant tells the press that she wanted to visit this Brooklyn neighborhood as it is where she grew up.
