Captain America: Sam Wilson #19 Review by (February 17, 2017)
Comments: Among those watching the verdict on television are the Avengers: Hercules, Wasp (Nadia Pym), Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Vision, and Thor (Jane Foster).

Review: A bitter picture of injustice is grim and unsettling and exactly the thing I don't want to read about in my comics. Nevertheless, this is very well done, Spencer and Unzueta push all the right buttons and I hope it's all worth it in the end.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Captain America: Sam Wilson #19 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Captain America (Sam Wilson) describes how he tried to take a stand when Rage (Elvin Haliday) was arrested and falsely accused of robbery by posting film of his treatment by the Americops. Sam pleads with Elvin to let them help him with a smart lawyer, but Elvin refuses, wanting to make his ordeal a cause. Elvin walks into court with an overworked and clueless public defender against a hostile “law and order” judge and an aggressive prosecutor while right-wing news commentator Harry Hauser stirs up the public against him. The prosecution's case is strong and focused while the defense is made up mainly of character witnesses including Sam Cap. To his shock the video of the arrest is ruled as inadmissible by the judge because of its dubious origin. Sam walks out and hunts down a witness for the defense; by talking to the Punisher and other shady characters, Cap is able to locate and capture Speed Demon, one of the real robbers Rage is taking the fall for. When he arrives back at the courthouse with his captive, though, Misty Knight tells him that the trial is over and Rage was found guilty....

The news breaks around the world, but all that's left is the fallout...an inner city boy paints his face to look like Rage's mask, sneaks out of the house at night, and hurls a firebomb at a bank where it explodes....
