Fall of the Hulks: Alpha #1 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Years ago, using a temporal shifter, a group of the smartest villains composed of the Leader, the Wizard, EggHead, the Mad Thinker and the Red Ghost, self-called the Intelligencia, infiltrated Olympia, home of the Eternals, undetected, to get a great most of texts and artifacts that belonged to the famous Library of Alexandria, possessing invaluable knowledge they could use in their advantage. The texts were stored in Doctor Doom's city, Latveria since he would be the only one capable of safeguard them.

After EggHead's demise, the Leader brought M.O.D.O.K. to the group which finished the search of the Alexandriam texts in Wakandia and Atlantis. But then Doom attacked his teammates and kept the library for himself.

Nevertheless, M.O.D.O.K. did learn from the texts and looking for a way to create the finest weapon against his enemies, he discovered a way to combine cosmic and gamma rays to create a super being: and thus the Red Hulk was conceived when the (Green) Hulk was shot by military satellites at the end of World War Hulk.

Note: during one the Intelligencia missions, the Leader stole the body of Betty Ross.
