Invincible Iron Man #64 Review by (November 19, 2013)
Review: Pretty darn cool action issue! Rokk is one formidable foe and it’s a shame we don’t see him again. The opening pages show Iron Man’s construction efforts in a very nice montage for a little variety in the comic’s style.

Comments: Part two of four parts.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Invincible Iron Man #64 Synopsis by T Vernon
Iron Man tears down a ruined building in inner city Detroit then rebuilds it single-handedly to demonstrate Stark Industries’ new construction materials before a crowd of city officials. As he continues to brood over the Happy and Pepper fiasco from last issue, the new building is suddenly destroyed by Dr Spectrum, seeking revenge. Iron Man hits him with his ultra-violet ray (the only thing that harms the Power Prism) so Spectrum conjures up a thick cloud to cover his escape. Tony Stark returns to his office to face an angry Happy Hogan. Assured that Tony’s weak heart is healed, Happy beats him up. Pepper calls a halt to the one-sided fight and takes Happy away for a much-needed talk. Dr Obatu, the African statesman, arrives accompanied by Eddie March. As Obatu asks to hire Iron Man as a bodyguard, a huge monstrous figure called Rokk crashes through the doors on a mission to kill Obatu. It grabs Tony who delivers a karate blow to its ears; Rokk threatens Tony’s loved ones, causing him to think of Roxie Gilbert. The monster reads his mind, having duped him into giving her identity away. Rokk then seizes Obatu and flies out the window; Tony follows as Iron Man. The monster heads for Roxie Gilbert’s organic food shop and smashes the place up. Iron Man arrives and battles the inhuman brute until he is almost out of power. Rokk then fades away and reforms into a giant scimitar—wielded by Dr Spectum….
