World War Hulk: Front Line #3 Review by (February 15, 2010)
Issues 2-5 are divided into three sections, all written by Paul Jenkins: a) “Embedded: Behind Enemy Lines,” drawn by Ramon Bachs, focusing on Ben and Sally’s efforts to cover the human tragedy of the war; b) “Costume Division: Death of an Android,” drawn by Shawn Martinbrough, following Detective Danny Granville and Korg as they investigate the suspicious death of Arch-E-5912; and c) “War is Heck,” drawn by Chris Moreno, a series of comical vignettes on World War Hulk. Story occurs at the same time as WORLD WAR HULK #3. Hulk does not appear in this issue.

World War Hulk: Front Line #3 Review by (February 15, 2010)
Jonah Jameson here rages against the success of Front Line, but in #6 we will learn that he is their mystery backer! While the 1st story runs alongside WWH#3, the Marvel Chronology Project Calendar puts #3/2 back with #2/2 during WWH#2. And the MCP has #3/3 well before WWH, between Mighty Avengers #11 and Iron Man #25 - but they would have done better to ignore it like they do #4/3 and #5/3.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

World War Hulk: Front Line #3 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
As the US Army moves into Harlem for a stand against the Hulk, an elderly woman refuses to leave her home, preferring to take her chances. At the Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson is enraged at the success of Front Line’s war coverage and vows a fight. Ben Urich and Sally Floyd are in the combat zone, trying to stay alive amid all the chaos and they come upon the old lady, standing forlornly, gazing at the ruins of her destroyed home. Elsewhere, Korg explains to Danny Granville that judicial servitude is a vow to avenge a murder, and failure requires them to kill themselves to apologize to the victim in the afterlife. With that motivation, Danny tracks down Thermo, a burglar/snitch and, with some encouragement by Korg, learns that the mechanoid had been in Slappy’s Deli. At the deli, they strike gold: a security camera, which likely recorded ARCH-E-5912’s movements.

“War is Heck:” Rhode Island holds an American Idol-style competition to choose their superheroes; the winner is Miles Flatt and His Amazing guitar of Death, a sort of cross between Ghost Rider and Elvis. Punch line: the next contestant was Iron Man.
