Marvel's Iron Man 3 Prelude #2 Synopsis by

War Machine, helpless as the Ten Rings’ Hammer tank approaches, reboots his systems and flies into the air, evading harm. He fires on the ground around the tank so that it falls in a hole but the Ten Rings terrorists fire rockets at him, pushing him back within the range of the tank. He calls for back-up but is reminded that the Avengers are fighting off the Chitauri invasion of New York. After another missile from the tank, Rhodey realizes he can’t take much more so he begins to fight smarter. He flies high into the air and comes down, smashing a crater in the ground. He uses a sonic cannon to take out the foot soldiers but the tank blasts him then runs him over. So he picks up the tank covering him; it activates a self-destruct mode so Rhodey hurls it into the ocean where the nuclear core explodes harmlessly. He discovers bits of Stark tech in the item, wondering how the Ten Rings were able to obtain it. He races back to New York and marvels at the destruction. He locates the Avengers (Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye) in a restaurant, eating shawarma….
Rhodey stops by Tony Stark’s Malibu home where he finds Pepper Potts doing the redecorating while Tony is in his lab creating enough Iron Man armors to form an Iron Legion….
One of the Ten Rings minions reports to the Mandarin that they have obtained all of the specs for the War Machine armor and all they need do now is wipe Iron Man off the face of the Earth….
