We see the wave of insects swarming over the spaceport, the settlement of Kree exiles, the base of Gamora and her female Graces on Mount Virago, and the town of Abyss where Ronan and Kree Korath The Pursuer are trying to hold them off. Last issue Ronan fought Gamora there, both under the mental influence of Glorian. But now with the Wave to fight Ronan finds himself thinking clearly. He deduces that the as-yet-unknown puppeteer has had to turn his attention to the invaders. We see that he's right, and Glorian's hold is weakening on his 2 captives the cyborg Devos and the Skrull Talos. The 2 Kree are almost overwhelmed but Ronan is determined not to die before clearing his name and he temporarily clears a space around them. He's seen by the leader of this branch of the Annihilation Wave, Eradica - 1st Consort to Annihilus. The 2 Kree see where Glorian is using his stolen energy to fight the foe but Ronan is attacked by Eradica on her flying disc before he can go to confront him.

Meanwhile Gamora has left Abyss and is on her own personal flyer heading for Mount Virago where Cerise has reported that their castle is under attack. She too is angry that the 'puppeteer' caused her not to be there to help defend the place.

Back in Abyss Ronan and Eradica battle aboard her flying disc until he uses his Universal Weapon to cause it to crash into Glorian's HQ. Eradica senses that Glorian is the main opponent here and summons her horde to kill him. The 'god' rants that he turned this planet into an utopia to impress his mentor the Shaper Of Worlds. And now he turns his power towards eradicating the Neg-Zone insectoids. Ronan and Korath link up with Devos and Talos and agree to put aside any differences among them during the current emergency. The 2 Kree send the other 2 to gather survivors and head for the spaceport while they complete the Accuser's quest. En route to the Kree settlement to get his Starslide spaceship and any Kree  survivors, Ronan tells Korath how Glorian was a human dying of radiation poisoning who was saved and transformed by the Skrull Cosmic Cube called the Shaper Of Worlds to be his apprentice. He can only assume that the Shaper has now abandoned him. The Accuser asks all the Kree to accompany him to Mount Virago to get the truth out of Tana Nile, and they agree.

We see the Rigellian battling the insectoid Wave in Mount Virago as Gamora arrives in time to see them killing another of the Graces, Spirit (Xira). Gamora dives down in vengeance to join Cerise and Nebula in killing the foes. Eradica leaves Glorian fighting her troops in Abyss and heads to the Mount too. The Starslide gets there and Ronan jumps down to find the castle littered with dead insects and Gamora, Nebula and Cerise surrounding a bleeding body. He demands to speak to Tana Nile and they show him that she's dying. He asks who hired her to bear false witness against him. She names the House Fiyero which he probably knew already but he wants a single person to blame. Instead she justifies her actions because they could tell her where to find the person who ordered the destruction of Rigel-3 (Thanos in the Thor 2003 Annual, but really 1 of his Thanosi clones). Now she dies. Gamora suggests that they can still both take revenge on Glorian for controlling them. He agrees and they enter the Starslide to go to Abyss. But Eradica arrives with more of the Annihilation Wave. Ronan stands on the starship as it rises to attack and his Universal Weapon blasts her off her flying disc.

In Abyss Glorian is buried in insectoids but he uses his stolen power to destroy the swarm, possibly all over the planet, but it destroys his utopia too. The Starslide arrives and Gamora and Ronan exit to confront him. But they find a babbling wreck who isn't worth the effort. Ronan says he'll go back to the Kree capital Hala to warn them of the approaching Wave, even though the exile faces execution.

Annihilation: Ronan (2006 series) #4 Review by (July 11, 2026)
The Marvel Fandom Wiki suggests Eradica dies here but she appears in the main Annihilation mini-series with Annihilation Wave dates later than this issue.

Spirit and Tana Nile truly die here and haven't (as of yet) returned. It seems that Spirit was only added to this issue issue and #2 to give the writer someone to kill off. Tana Nile at least had another plot function.

Devos wanders off to the Realm Of Kings: Inhumans mini-series.

Talos similarly drifts away to the 2015 Howard the Duck mini.

Glorian gets involved with the Queen Of Nevers in the 2014 Silver Surfer series.

Ronan and Gamora head to Annihilation #1. Cerise and Nebula join them in #4.

Korath skips all that and goes straight to Annihilation Conquest #1.
