It's yet another multiversal Earth, this 1 designated 5478, and the Multiversal Masters Of Evil have arrived to destroy another version of Avengers 1MBC. All-Mother Odin hurls lightning at Doom Supreme which his force-shield withstands. Dark Phoenix, King Killmonger in his Destroyer armour and Kid Thanos with a big gun blast her to death. A female Black Panther, both Vibranium Queen and Iron Fist, tries to wield Mjolnir but is destroyed by the Ghost Goblin's bombs made of Ghost Rider skulls. The caveman Phoenix reaches for the hammer but DP's Hound Wolverine decapitates him. Lady Agamotto, Sorceress Supreme falls to Black Skull's Venom symbiote. Startooth, the sabretooth Starbrand, seems to go the same way. And Ghost Rider, riding what looks like a giant rhineceros, is burned by Dark Phoenix. The MMOE gloat and leave.
But Mjolnir survives deep in the Earth. And someday someone worthy will take him and claim vengeance.
Mjolnir delivers a voiceover for the whole issue. It claims to explain how killing this Earth's earliest heroes will prevent the rise of all future ones. Without Odin and her unborn daughter Thor all Earth's pantheons will war amongst each other until there are no gods left. The Panther/Iron Fist's death prevents Wakanda and K'un-Lun from rising/surviving. Without the Phoenix there will be no mutants. Without Agamotto there will be no magic, and for some reason no radioactive spider to bite Spider-Man and also humankind will never fly or reach space. Without the Starbrand the Celestials and other aliens won't visit Earth. Without Ghost Rider to maintain the balance between Heaven and Hell all humans will be damned.
