Damage Control #3 Review by (May 25, 2020)

Review: More craziness though I wish they had included more of the movie but as it goes, it’s all pretty funny. Favorite moment: Galactus biting into a planet like an apple and then picking his teeth.

Comments: Celebrities at the post-film party include Hawkeye, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Tigra, Wasp, Beast, Mockingbird. The film’s cast is Marlon Brando (Kingpin), Shelley Long (misspelled “Shelly,” as Robin Chapel), Simon Williams (John Porter), James Coburn (Lenny Ballinger), Jimmie “J.J.” Walker (misspelled “Jimmy,” as Albert Cleary), John Candy (Gene Strausser), Henry Ackerdson (as himself), and Dan Slott, Greg Wright, Tom Brevoort, Denys Cowan in smaller roles. Plus, Nightcat as herself. By an error, DC’s Ray Lippert is herein called Jim Lippert.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Damage Control #3 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

The staff of Damage Control has been invited to the premiere of A.J. Lociciero’s movie about the company: John is played by Simon “Wonder Man” Williams as a hunky hero type. Robin is a clingy adoring girlfriend for John. Albert is a jive-talkin’ pimp dude. And they all hate how they are portrayed….

Meanwhile in the Asteroid Belt, Edifice Rex realizes he can use his cosmic powers to clean everything in the universe at once. He tries it out…and comes to the attention of the great cosmic beings, so Lord Chaos invites Galactus to a meeting. Galactus then summons the Silver Surfer and dispatches him to Earth to find out what’s going on….

Back at the premiere, Albert is planning a lawsuit as “John” defeats “Kingpin” and hurls him out the window to his doom. Everybody then heads for the after party, where they mingle with heroes and Hollywood types and Simon takes a lot of ribbing from his Avengers pals while the DC people corner the director to complain. Then the Silver Surfer flies into the room, announces the imminent destruction of the universe and comes to collect the only beings who have a hope of averting the disaster…no, not the Avengers but Damage Control!
