Synopsis

Fall of the Hulks: The Savage She-Hulks #1 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Thundra is in the Southwestern desert when she is attacked by her daughter from the future Lyra, angry at her mother's having abandoned her to travel back to the 21st century. Thundra warns that she is jeopardizing her future (an everyone else's) by learning too much about the situation. MODOK and the Leader are watching, having sent Lyra against her mother in hopes that Lyra would kill Thundra, erasing her own existence thereby. Their second choice was to make her more amenable to joining the Frightful Four....

Later, a disguised Wizard approaches a disguised Lyra in a coffee shop, offering her a position on his criminal team. When she refuses Wizard has his partners Klaw and Trapster attack her. She clobbers the both of them despite their sinister attacks. Wizard's back-up arrives: Red She-Hulk who beats Lyra until she has to be stopped by Wizard clapping a shock-collar on her. He departs with a final offer to Lyra to join his gang and take revenge against her mother....

Lyra accepts the offer, accompanying the Frightful Four in their invasion of the Baxter Building to kidnap Reed Richards. Returning to the Intelligencia's Helicarrier, her true motive for joining the gang becomes clear: she searches the ship until she finds She-Hulk Jennifer Walters suspended in a tank of fluid....

Fall of the Hulks: The Savage She-Hulks #1 Review by (June 11, 2018)

Review: This tie-in to the FALL OF THE HULKS event is somewhat better than the rest of the series, which isn't bad in itself, just a bit pointless. But here we see Lyra, an underrated, underused character at her best. Led by misguided passions in issue #1, bonding with She-Hulk in issue #2 (the best part of the tie-in as we also learn some of Jen's deeper feelings), and kicking butt and reconciling with her mother in issue #3. The action scenes are very nice too, especially the fight at the end of #2. Too bad the cover artist thinks women's breasts are the real stars of the show.

Comments: Part one of three parts. Tie-in to the FALL OF THE HULKS event. The account of the Frightful Four's assault on the Baxter Building was told in HULK #19.
