Synopsis

Hulk (2021 series) #6 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3.5 stars

The creature resembling Betty Ross is in control of Starship Hulk, pushing it to the limits as it fights the Abominations. Inside the engine room, the Hulk psyche is fighting a massive array of monsters, including a green Galactus. Starship Hulk transforms into a giant hellish Titan spitting electricity and tearing into the helpless Abominations. President Ross decides to drop a Gamma bomb on them which Alt-Banner warns will destroy three cities within the blast radius; Ross orders Banner to be quiet at gunpoint as he gives the order. Bruce leaps on him and struggles for the gun….

Banner psyche returns to the control room with difficulty to plead with the Betty creature to stop. As she grows into a more menacing form, Bruce pulls the lever that opens the door to the engine room and free Hulk psyche. As Hulk battles Betty creature, Alt-Banner shoots Ross with his own gun and the Titan Hulk explodes, obliterating the Abominations. Bruce Banner is in the engine room and sees the Hulk psyche watching him; he gives the order for the ship to repair. Alt-Banner sends a warning about the Gamma bomb and Starship Hulk pulls himself together. Alt-Banner tells him to open the portal as wide as it can go and the Gamma fallout will be siphoned off into the void. It does that and Starship Hulk is also pulled into the void. He is warned of an incoming object and then sees Mjolnir speeding toward him….

Story continues in HULK VS. THOR: BANNER OF WAR ALPHA.

Review / Commentaries

Hulk (2021 series) #6 Review by (April 20, 2022)

Review: While still an adrenaline rush, this story in my opinion was much harder to follow and I’m not sure the synopsis accurately reflects the author’s intentions. The Betty creature is likely to return someday and we can move on as the final page leads into the big Hulk versus Thor crossover “Banner of War.”

Comments: Now that Hulk has a Titan, Xemnu the original Hulk, rechristened “Titan” has double the reason to resent him.
