Indestructible Hulk #4 Review by (March 5, 2019)

Review: Well, looks like we'll have to wait a bit to meet the new supporting cast while Hulk goes underwater again. Still a pretty cool issue with the atomic testing city as Bruce's living quarters being a nice touch. The underwater scenes were nice but the bulk of the action is reserved for the next ish, which is also pretty cool. And Bruce being stuffed into a torpedo tube should be on the all-time list of classic Hulk (or Bruce Banner) moments.

Comments:Marvel Now!"--Cover. Part one of two parts. Attuma is a longtime enemy of the Sub-Mariner, introduced in FANTASTIC FOUR #33, and had most recently appeared in the FEAR ITSELF event.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Indestructible Hulk #4 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Dr Bruce Banner wakes up and prepares himself for this day, a spot of green on his hand disconcerting him until he recalls that it is paint. He leaves his apartment in a nuclear ghost town, chosen for its tranquility. Bruce checks in with his mysterious contact, assuring him that SHIELD is honoring their end of the deal. He arrives at the lab and meets his new staff, Daman Veteri, Randall Jessup, Melinda Leucenstern, and Patricia Wolman. He is upset at the lack of internet and the staff freezes—and they have just passed their last test. Bruce leaves them to discuss the possible applications of Uru while he reports to Maria Hill. Hill informs Bruce that Attuma, undersea conqueror, has captured Lemuria and is using its monsters to declare himself ruler over the Pacific Ocean. Banner is to suit up and SHIELD's Chinese allies will get him where he needs to go...

...via their Dreadnought, an underwater version of the Helicarrier, accompanied by ROB (Recording Observation Bot). When the ship comes under attack by Attuma's troops, Banner is hustled into a torpedo tube and shot out into the ocean, where he faces the enemy as the Hulk. Attuma recognizes him but is not worried. As the Chinese ship withdraws, Hulk is seized by huge tentacles and dragged down into a crevasse in the ocean floor, ever downward until the pressure becomes unbearable....
