Synopsis

Invincible Iron Man #262 Synopsis by T Vernon
Tony Stark has himself examined by the greatest doctors in the world who tell him he is in perfect health—a disappointing result. Tony knows his health has been affected by his drinking in the past and he still has no idea what caused his paralysis in issue #260. At this moment, Kearson DeWitt has his team seize control of Tony's body and have him walk away from James Rhodes (Rhodey), puzzling his long-time friend and associate....

In the Chamber of the Sleeping Dragon, the newly-revived Fin Fang Foom demands to know why the Mandarin woke him. Mandarin talks of the changes in China since the dragon last walked the Earth but FFF denies any interest in the affairs of men....

Rhodey follows Tony deeper into the building; realizing all the guards are outside watching the striking workers, Rhodey wonders who is manning the security cameras. In the security booth, Rhodey finds Cartwright, a guard who has sold them out to the enemy, and beats the man in a fight. He discovers a little black box but passes it up in favor of pursuing Tony who is leaving the building. Rhodey catches up to Tony and confronts him and Tony attacks him. After a brief fight, Rhodey overpowers Tony, while realizing it should not have been that easy. Dodging the security cameras, Rhodey carries Tony to his private lab; DeWitt's team tries to reestablish visual contact with Tony but Tony (communicating with his eyes) and Rhodey work out a solution. Soon, Iron Man stands forth again, an encephalo-link allowing Tony to control the armor, overriding the control of the bad guys...but for how long?

Comments: Armor Wars II: Part V of IX.

Review: Like last issue, this is more build-up, still setting up the situations for the upcoming issues. Two fist fights between non-powered people provide most of the action and Rhodey wins both times. But I'm intrigued and want to know what's up with Fin Fang Foom! Story ends with the note that next issue, the Armor War begins in earnest! Won't Ernest be surprised!
