Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Punisher War Journal #65 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
The Punisher is wanted for the murder of a police officer; the President puts the anti-vigilante group V.I.G.I.L. under the command of the Justice Department and John Lowe is named the new head. The police and military surround a city block in Brooklyn which is supposed to be unoccupied, while news reporter Tess Clay covers the story from a hovering helicopter. Armed officers invade the building and the Punisher leads them on a chase through the tenement, leading them to a drug lab and other illegal activities. Petty crook Ermin is caught inside the building with a case full of the drug Bliss and a large amount of cash to deliver the crime boss Mr. Machete. Escaping the building, he encounters crooked cop Rudger who kills him for the money; Rudger turns around and sees the Punisher, who guns him down. As John Lowe orders him men to shoot to kill the quarry, Captain America arrives and volunteers to go in alone after the Punisher….
