Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk (San Antonio Express News) (1982 series) #1

J. Jonah Jameson is looking for something new to put in the Daily Bugle when Peter Parker suggests doing a story on rodeo champ Rex Ryder. Peter and Jameson fly out to Texas where JJJ heads to Foley’s to buy some new western duds. Peter takes photos of the big parade starring Rex Ryder and Annie Belle but his Spider-Sense goes off and he spots the Enforcers, Ox, Fancy Dan, and Montana—in the parade and wonders what they are up to….

Meanwhile, Bruce Banner is working at the rodeo fairgrounds when he spies Rex Ryder sneaking about so he follows him. He sees Ryder meet up with the Enforcers who demand that he lose his big event in the rodeo as well as robbing the box office for them as they have Annie Belle hostage to ensure his cooperation.…

So the rodeo gets underway and Bruce now spots the Rhino sneaking around. He follows Rhino to see him rob the box office and so confronts him. Rhino slaps him which causes Bruce to change into the Hulk and he pursues his enemy. Rhino dashes across the grounds, knocking Rex off his horse during his event. Peter changes into his Spider-Man outfit and rescues Rex from being trampled by a bull. Rex explains about Annie and the Enforcers so Spidey chases Ox while Hulk chases Rhino. Spidey captures the three gangsters, Hulk smashes Rhino which sets a large van rolling out of control. Spidey pulls Annie out of the wagon before the van can hit it while Hulk smashes the van anyway. Rex treats Peter to a new wardrobe at Foley’s and JJJ throws a fit when he sees that the local paper has scooped them on the story….
