Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Thor #367 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

At Nornkeep, Balder takes his leave of Karnilla to return to Asgard and claim the throne. Thor grows a beard to hide the injuries inflicted by Hela (issue #361) while agonizing over betraying Sif while under the spell of Lorelei (#359). Beta Ray Bill asks Sif to go away with him but she must consider this. Then Hogun returns with Agnar bearing news of a Frost Giant invasion (BALDER THE BRAVE #4). Heimdall perceives that the castle of the Frost Giants has been destroyed thus eliminating the threat.

Meanwhile, Loki moves on to his next plot and he summons troll-wife Uglitha as his new ally; Lorelei interrupts him and is tossed out on her ear. A "sympathetic" Malekith gives her a love potion to win Loki back to her….

As the platform for the coronation is under construction, a guard discovers Malekith plotting to plant explosives and knocks him out. Balder arrives so the festivities may begin. Hildy battles her brothers who were mocking her wearing a dress and Hogun escorts her to the arena. Heimdall visits Amora and discovers she didn’t know that the Executioner was dead (#362); she throws a fit and swears vengeance on Thor. The vengeful Kurse (last issue) breaks into the dungeon where his betrayer Malekith is held and clobbers him….

At the coronation, a humble Thor begs forgiveness of Sif (who is hesitant to tell him she is leaving with Bill). A snarky Lorelei interrupts and Sif punches her lights out. As Balder makes his speech accepting the crown, Kurse comes crashing through the guards; the huge warrior seizes Balder and snaps his neck between his mighty hands….
