Synopsis

Carnage USA (2012 series) #3 synopsis by reviewer Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

The Mercury Team task force, with Scorn, quietly enters Doverton. Meanwhile, at the church, Carnage (Cletus Kasady) is impersonating the pastor, forcing the congregation to pull their own teeth. At the Ralsby Estate, Eric Morrell crashes out, against the advice of the rest of the resistance, to see his wife and kids—and Hannah, ordered by Carnage to kill Eric if she doesn't want her kids killed—turns into a symbiote and attacks. Spider-Man rushes to the rescue but is faced with the two “Carnage kids.” But Hannah can't bring herself to kill her husband so Kasady has them head back to town, with the promise that he is going to eat the children. Spidey promises to not let that happen and pursues....

In town, the Mercury Team finds itself in a battle with the transformed townspeople. At the church, Captain America is able to throw off the symbiote's control long enough to send a special call for help—to Flash Thompson, the new Venom....

Review: See issue #1 for review.

Comments: “This issue takes place after SECRET AVENGERS #23.” The cover has Carnage impersonating George Washington at his famous crossing of the Delaware. Title is a parody of the New Hampshire state motto, “Live free or die.” Of the mutated Avengers, only Captain America appears in this issue.
