Iron Man Vs. Whiplash #3 Review by (November 12, 2021)
Comments: Script by Marc Guggenheim and Brannon Braga.

Review: More excitement, suspense, and the prospect of something really horrible happening next issue! This has it all, including some comical banter between Tony and Pepper plus the obvious joke about Tony Stark being mistaken for Robert Downey Jr. and it’s almost funny!

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Iron Man Vs. Whiplash #3 Synopsis by T Vernon
At the International Criminal Court Detention Center in the Hague, Tony Stark in a makeshift Iron Man armor battles Whiplash, who is intent on killing him for revenge. But Tony has only six minutes before the power overload causes the suit to explode. They fight as Tony counts down the seconds, afraid that the villain will kill Pepper Potts next. As he and Pepper run for the chopper, Tony routes all the power into his helmet and hurls it at Whiplash; it explodes but the villain is protected by his own armor. He lashes onto the chopper but Tony is able to scrape him off against a rooftop and get away….

The mystery villains connect Whiplash’s armor to the Volstok attack and conclude that if he and Tony Stark get together, their operation will be blown….

Tony and Pepper check into a Swiss hotel incognito and make plans. Tony has a piece of Whiplash’s armor and needs to visit his lab back at Stark headquarters back in the USA. One intercontinental flight later and Tony, dressed in Scuba gear, breaks into the building via the water system. He is caught by a couple of guards who try to capture him but he gasses them and proceeds to the lab. There, he checks the security logs on the nights he was recorded as being there when he was away and, to his surprise, he sees film of himself entering the building….

Whiplash has hacked into the Stark computers and knows Stark has access to his best armor again….

And the mystery villains calculate that they have forty-five minutes until Stark finds them, so they have their army of deformed Tony Stark clones suit up….
