Vision and the Scarlet Witch (1982 series) #1

Having left the Avengers, Vision and the Scarlet Witch have moved into a quiet residential neighborhood in New Jersey to be normal people. It’s Halloween and Vision startles a trio of Trick or Treaters by passing his hand through a bag. Vizh and Wanda enter their home and find an unexpected Jarvis fixing the place up for them. Jarvis also gives her a book Captain America found for her; it turns out to be a magic book written in Druidic runes. They make out and separately review their histories to bring readers up to speed. Unseen, the magic tome emits a green light that changes the three kids into a monstrous trio of Jack O’Lantern, Goblin, and Ghost, who invade the house to carry off Wanda. Vision fights them but Ghost is able to pass through Vision causing severe pain. Samhain, eternal embodiment of Halloween, rises from the book, now free in the world again and he takes on Wanda. Vison frees Jack O’Lantern from the villain’s control, Jarvis cold cocks Goblin and Vision again does painful battle with Ghost to prevent Samhain from forcing Wanda into his power. Wanda combines her magic abilities with her mutant hex power to hurl the magic book into the fireplace and it is destroyed with Samhain still trapped within. The three kids go back to normal with no memory of the incident. Wanda and Vision comfort one another while Jarvis cleans up. There is a knock at the door…and it turns out to be Robert “Whizzer” Frank, Wanda’s father….
