Avengers #15 Review by (July 7, 2013)
Falcon's on the cover but not inside. The cover to #17 suggests the recipient of the signal may be a Builder, the cosmic guys who long ago initiated the programs that resulted in Ex Nihilo (#1 on) and Starbrand (#7-9). Andrew Forson is a member with Superia of the AIM High Council, as seen in the Marvel NOW Secret Avengers series. He was 1st seen in the 1st series of the F(uture) F(oundation). I don't know if the unseen knights in space are the Spaceknights, and the planet Galador. The presence of SWORD's Peak satellite whole and in orbit suggests this story occurs before Uncanny Avengers #7-8. The Previews blurb for this issue suggests the incoming spaceships are refugees rather than an invasion force.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Avengers #15 Synopsis by Rob Johnson
Last issue the giant bugs of the Australian origin bomb site started sending out a signal every 6 minutes that as a side effect disrupted electronics worldwide. A team of Avengers went to stop them, and found themselves also facing the 4-faced giants from the Indian site. Meanwhile on AIM Island the signal woke up the 'self-defence' inhabitant of the 7th site.

Captain America leads Black Widow, Hawkeye, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man and Wolverine on the ground against the proliferating 'communications' bugs. While Cannonball, Hyperion, Sunspot and Thor attack the 'self-repair' giants from the air. Meanwhile in the Hub observation station Bruce Banner leads a SHIELD team trying to solve the problem. He's also wondering what the signal is and who it's aimed at. Indeed the signal has, by relativity-defying alien super-science, spread out into the galaxy and beyond and been picked up by an intended recipient.

On AIM Island the occupant of the cocoon AIM retrieved from the origin site in Norway in #4 has broken out. The AIM troops are fleeing, and even their leader Superia is staggering away from area. Another leader Andrew Forson arrives demanding to know what's happening. But the being has gone.

Meanwhile back in Perth Cap has an idea. He contacts Thor and asks him to hit the giant transmitting antenna the bugs built with a lightning blast. When he does so it fries the bugs, and the disoriented 4-faced giants are easier to subdue.

The team gather together. Manifold is also with them, and the mysterious Captain Universe joins them now it's all over. She gets Manifold to accompany her to a planet somewhere in deep space. She tells him this place is guarded by knights, and this place will be the 1st to fall.

Back near Earth Abigail Brand and SWORD in their Peak orbital HQ detect loads of different spaceships approaching the planet. They capture most of them but a Skrull vessel gets through.

And Banner's SHIELD team are tracking an armoured form heading from AIM Island to Perth.
