Invincible Iron Man #12 Review by (August 27, 2019)
Comments: Special 40-page issue, part three of the crossover among the Heroes Reborn titles. First appearance of Scarlet Witch, Vision, Ant-Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, Black Bolt, Nick Fury and Sub-Mariner in this title. Oh yeah, and Galactus too.
Review: Looks like the limited Heroes Reborn series will be going out on a high note: this Galactus crossover is likely the best thing to come out of the initiative and it is classic. Kudos all around.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Invincible Iron Man #12 Synopsis by T Vernon
Story continued from AVENGERS Vol. 2 #12.

At the Baxter Building, Tony Stark meets with the Fantastic Four and the Hulkbusters to ponder why each of these college friends has gained superhuman powers and their lives are still intertwined. Hulk picks a fight with Thing that threatens to destroy the building. Invisible Woman puts them into force field cells to quiet them down, to the disappointment of Human Torch and She-Hulk. Tony, Reed Richards, and Doc Samson see the Heralds of Galactus approaching, ahead of their master's ship. Reed plans for the FF to make first contact with the new arrival; Tony promises to find a cure for the Gamma-irradiated group....

Tony hurries over to the hospital to visit Happy Hogan, critically injured in issue #7, and finds Pepper Potts there. Doctor Doom suddenly smashes a hole in the hospital wall and transports Tony to his ship....

At the Baxter Building, as the FF prepare for the coming of Galactus, Liz Ross arrives to see Bruce, revealing that the exposure to radiation that made him the Hulk gave her cancer. They embrace....

Aboard the Doomship, as Tony dons the Iron Man armor, Doom explains Merlin's cryptic comments from last issue as having to do with the Onslaught event that Tony doesn't remember. Nick Fury arrives to corroborate what Doom has said, bringing them aboard the Helicarrier. There they meet the Avengers (Thor, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Wasp) plus the Hulkbusters. When they are together, Nick Fury announces that the Fantastic Four have all been killed in the line of duty, fighting the Heralds of Galactus. The assembled Avengers divide up into teams the defeat the Heralds....

In Antarctica, Scarlet Witch, Wasp, and Vision put Plasma on ice....

On Monster Island, Cap, Hawkeye, and Doc Samson join Sub-Mariner in defeating Firelord....

Attilan: Thor and She-Hulk avenge Black Bolt by killing Terrax....

The surviving former Knights of the Atomic Round Table—Tony, Bruce, Hank, and Doom—try to prepare for what comes next when Galactus suddenly arrives to devour Earth. Iron Man, Hulk, and Ant-Man position the Ultimate Nullifier to destroy the invader—and they fail. Doctor Doom takes the opportunity to enter his time machine and journey 24 hours into the past....

Story concludes in CAPTAIN AMERICA Vol. 2 #12.
