Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Marvel Age Hulk #2 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Bruce Banner is traveling through Fort Sumner, New Mexico, when he comes to a van that has had a breakdown. The occupants are a boy, Mitchell Hall and his mother Amy, who turns out to be an old high school classmate of Bruce’s. They were on their way to visit Billy the Kid’s grave when the van broke down. When the tow truck arrives, Amy invites Bruce to join them for dinner at a local diner, unaware that they are being watched by a man in the sky, who reports their location to his boss. At the diner, Amy tells Bruce that they are running from her husband Jason, a robotics expert who has enhanced his own body with high-tech grafts and was planning to experiment on Mitchell, so Amy took the boy and the data discs and fled. At his moment, Jason and his two enhanced henchmen burst into the diner and capture Amy and Mitchell. Assuming Bruce is Amy’s new lover he orders Scout One to take care of him. The baddie blasts Bruce into the kitchen and follows to finish him off but is thrown across the room seconds later as the Hulk bursts from the next room. Jason and Scout Two find their power weapons are ineffective against the Hulk and Jason takes Amy prisoner while Scout Two switches to a more effective sonic weapon—at least until Hulk shoots him down with a parking lot sign. Hulk takes on Jason and wrecks his energy cell and, believing him a robot, goes to finish him off, but Mitchell pleads with Hulk to spare his dad. Jade Jaws mutters, “Hulk didn’t start fight.” And wanders off. The next morning Bruce finds Amy and Mitchell, who tell him that Jason will be getting treatment. Mitchell gives Bruce his cowboy hat as he says goodbye.
