West Coast Avengers (2025 series) #10

An 'iteration' of Ultron joined the West Coast Avengers supervillain rehabilitation program. Another, Ultron The One, started a church which 'saved' terminally ill humans by cyborging them. Ultron The Scorched didn't like these human-friendly versions. He smashed The One's cathedral and turned his followers into human-hunting cyberhounds. Now the WCA including Ultron The Avenger are fighting him while Wonder Man goes to save Blue Bolt's father from an assassin sent by Flag-Smasher. But The Scorched has just pierced Iron Man through the chest ...

... until Avenger Ultron reveals that *he*'s really Tony Stark because the 2 had swapped(?) armours. Stark fires his anti-Ultron gun and the projectile is again the miniature Wasp, who's been teleported in wearing pyjamas due to East/West Coast time difference. She fires *her* special gun that incapacitated Avenger Ultron (in #6) and it staggers Scorched Ultron but he recovers explosively.

The One still survives as a head attached to Scorched's chest. He suggests combining forces with AU in an internal attack. AU allows himself to be grabbed. There's another massive explosion as the 2 Ultrons invade the Scorched's mindscape. He's still suffering from the effects of Wasp's gun and we see the other 2 looming over him as they try to destroy him. But AU needs the WCA's help. *They* must destroy Scorched's body as the 'bots attack his mind. But he warns Stark that the war dogs have been summoned and we see them racing towards our heroes. They break through the electrified wall of flame created by Blue Bolt and Firestar last issue. The One warns Spider-Woman that most of his followers won't survive his *death*, and she must tell her friend Meredith and any others that he grieves for them. AU tells the WCA to ensure that nothing escapes alive from the combined Ultrons. They don't want to kill their comrade but BB, FS and War Machine reluctantly combine blasts to reduce the Ultrons to a slab of molten metal.

Jessica Drew finds Meredith and holds her as she dies(?). And invulnerable Simon Williams is in time to stop the assassin's bullet hitting Tommy Watt's father. The villain was a new version of the Scourge Of The Underworld. But he escapes via a backup plan that sets ablaze a railway bridge as a train approaches, which of course WM has to save as priority. And Flag-Smasher has escaped from his prison cell.

Later the WCA assist in saving 'victims' of The One and The Scorched. Tommy Watt gets paroled in care of the WCA, and they'll hunt for Flag-Smasher. Angelica Jones greets Tommy as he leaves court. He tries to kiss her but she only offers him her cheek, saying that she can't start a relationship while she's in the recovery program for alcoholism and PTSD. Tony Stark is trying to find some way of contacting Ultron in the slab, and getting him out, but James Rhodes tells him it should be destroyed because Avenger Ultron sacrificed himself to protect the world from The Scorched. And the WCA unveil a statue of their Ultron sculpted from stone by Alicia Masters (the Thing's wife from the Fantastic Four).
