Bruce Banner wakes up on the dock, surrounded by parts of
demolished Humanoids; a boy fishing nearby tells him about a boat the frequents
the area. Bruce goes home to do some research, identifying the boat and
discovering it has gone to Alcatraz Island. He is preparing for his mission
when he is interrupted by Federal Agents Judd and Carr who cuff him and take
him into custody. Bruce is upset but only his hands and forearms turn Hulklike,
breaking the cuffs….
Betty Ross awakens in a bedroom with Dr. Jametz waiting for
her. He boasts of being a valuable ally to the Leader but Betty tells him he is
a fool and a lackey. Leader enters, bringing Betty breakfast and explaining
that he is expecting Bruce to come for her….
Meanwhile, Bruce is able to use his Hulk hands to deflect the
Agents’ bullet and to overpower them and escape. He hires a boatman to take him
to Alcatraz where he breaks into a pipeline and crawls through it, encountering
green rats….
Leader demonstrates his new storage device by exposing Jametz
to gamma radiation which transforms him into a huge sluglike creature….
Bruce makes it all the way to Betty’s room before he is
captured by Humanoids. Leader explains that their previous encounter was to see
how easily Bruce could be drained of his gamma and how long it would take him
to recharge. Now that he knows, Leader has Bruce strapped down and begins to
siphon off all of his Hulk gamma energy….
