Bruce Banner is alone in the desert, trying to come to terms with himself. As he drives back to base, he swerves to avoid an old man sitting in the middle of the road and wrecks his jeep.
The old man claims he’s waiting for a killer he hired—someone who would end his life so he could die on his own terms. Soon, the killer arrives: an apparent supervillain named Fragment, who confronts Bruce and belittles him for being a hypocritical weakling.
Pushed to his limits, Bruce transforms into the (Grey) Hulk and battles Fragment. After a fierce fight, he ultimately defeats him.
In the end, Bruce realizes that both the old man and Fragment were manifestations of his own psyche—creations born from his inner conflict and self-doubt.
