Synopsis

Incredible Hulk, The (1968 series) #427 synopsis by reviewer Julio MM
Rating: 3 stars

After escaping S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, Bruce Banner and Betty Ross settle in Sunville, Florida, adopting the aliases Bob and Betty Danner. Bruce takes a job at a local garage, while Betty works at the town library, both trying to rebuild a semblance of normalcy. But Sunville’s tranquility is shattered when children begin vanishing—victims of a deranged old man named Albert, who lures them into the Everglades under the pretense of delivering puppies.

Albert’s swampy hunting ground is also home to the Man-Thing, the silent, empathic guardian of the Everglades. As Bruce investigates the disappearances, his Hulk persona emerges to confront the killer in the depths of the swamp. The encounter is brutal and surreal, with Man-Thing’s presence adding a layer of eerie mysticism to the showdown.

Incredible Hulk, The (1968 series) #427 Review by (February 26, 2025)

Hulk #427 – “Six Months Later…” plunges the newly merged Hulk into a Southern Gothic nightmare, blending domestic refuge with creeping horror.

This issue, penned by Peter David and illustrated by Liam Sharp, marks a tonal shift—less superhero spectacle, more psychological thriller. It’s a haunting interlude that explores identity, trauma, and the impossibility of true escape.
