Ultimate Iron Man II (2008 series) #3

The two government men share their dossier on Dolores with Tony: he held a grudge against both Stark and Stane, was connected with Obadiah Stane, and linked with the terrorists who have the nukes….

The next day, the FBI are watching as Obadiah meets with Whiplash (Mark Scott), who takes him to meet Dolores in his limo; Tony and his team can’t hear what goes on but Tony guesses correctly that Obadiah is telling Dolores that the Iron Man robot is really a suit with a person inside, probably Tony Stark. So Tony goes down and knocks on the limo door to cut a deal with Dolores. Dolores wants the robot, Tony wants the names of the guys he gave the nukes to. Since they don’t trust one another, Dolores proposes they be together in a plane in flight while their people check out the exchange….

Back at Stark Labs, Tony calls in Abe Zimmer to make the Iron Man armor work by remote control. Abe unveils an android that will wear the armor for his purposes. Rhodey, Nifara, and Si Ma all object to the plan for different reasons. After much work by Abe they have a clumsy and unconvincing Iron Man….

So when time comes for the trade, Rhodey works the armored android to meet with Dolores’ people. Tony boards the plane and finds Whiplash with a bound and gagged Obadiah Stane. Tony frees him and tosses Scott’s whip overboard. Dolores reveals himself and tells Tony they are ready to take off and once they are airborne, Tony’s people hand over Iron Man while Dolores’ man will lead the military to the nuke. And so the plane takes off, the “robot” goes with Dolores’ scientists. Dolores’ man leads the Feds and the Army to a certain building, directing them to the seventh floor. They find and defuse the nuke but there is no one around. Neither Tony nor Dolores is happy with the trade so Tony goes to the front of the plane to confront Dolores and discovers the door is locked….

Dolores’ scientists discover the “robot” is only a poorly controlled android and they are set to kill the government man who delivered it. But War Machine crashes through the wall and takes them all down….

Tony, Obadiah, and Scott realize that Dolores must have sneaked off the plane just before takeoff. They know the plane is heading south, Dolores is planning to crash it…and the second nuke is aboard their plane….
