Synopsis / Summary / Plot
High Evolutionary created Eve Warlock to surpass Adam Warlock and she stole his Soul Gem, karmic staff and power and left him to die in Soul World (within the Gem). Last issue Dr Strange sent Gamora and Pip The Troll to find him. They tracked Eve to HE's base on the moon of what used to be Counter-Earth. Adam got everything back from Eve but Herbert Edgar Wyndham blasted him from behind.
Now HE has them both on slabs in his lab. He uses a machine to syphon all of Adam's power to Eve leaving him a wasted wreck again. She also has his staff but he still has the Gem. HE awakens her and tells her to take the Soul Gem and kill Adam and prepare to usher in a new era for humankind. She reaches for the Gem but pauses, remembering how Adam reached out the hand of friendship to her last issue. She refuses to be Evolutionary's puppet so he blasts her to teach her a lesson. But she grabs the karmic staff and attacks *him*.
As they battle Adam revives and joins in the attack on HE. He's still weak but Eve supports him and says that they are now allies. Evolutionary blasts at them both but a jointly-held staff repels the energy. Adam tells her to leave him to face the foe alone, but she says he's too weak and she kisses him to return his stolen power. There's a blinding light and then HE faces 2 full-strength enemies. As the fight renews Gamora and Pip materialise. They take in the situation and offer to help but Adam tells them to keep clear. The battle escalates and Evolutionary realises he's losing so he teleports away.
Eve swears to track him down. She offers Adam his staff back. Adam tells her she might need it but she insists that it's *his* so he accepts it. He then suggests she come with them to Monster Isle and join the Infinity Watch. But she declines for now, preferring her new quest. The other 3 leave her and she flies away into space, HE's base exploding behind her.
On Monster Isle Adam thanks his companions, including Dr S and Legacy, for their help. Drax The Destroyer and Moondragon arrive and ask what they've missed. Dr S leaves and Adam apologises to Genis-Vell for not having had time to tell him about his heroic father Captain Marvel. Legacy agrees to stay on the Isle for a while for peaceful place to think about his life.
On the shore where he 1st landed (#1) he meets the baby 'dinosaur' again. But then what appears to be Silver Surfer rises from the waters to ask for his help.
