Killraven leads his Freemen against the forces of the Keeper but the limited power to their ray guns runs out. So Killraven improvises, leading M’Shulla into the museum of weaponry, pursued by the Keeper’s human slaves. Killraven leads them into a gap and topples a huge statue over on them. Meanwhile, M’Shulla, pinned down by enemy fire, discovers a crossbow and fires it, cutting free a cannon suspended from the ceiling by ropes, causing it to swing down and clobber the enemy fighter. Killraven arrives and hurls a silver star at M’Shulla who is shocked but the star hits an enemy sneaking up behind him. Killraven captures the man and interrogates him about where the Keepeodrs abide and where they store their weapons. The man starts to say, “LaGua…” and then dies due to a post-hypnotic command. But it was enough to tell the hero where to look. They look around the museum and Killraven puts together a warriors’ uniform with an impressive sword. They leave the museum and find an old-time truck; Killraven ignores M’Shulla’s mocking and tries to start it and drive, which takes only two hours. But as they cross the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, a Martian tripod rises from the river and blasts the bridge, turning it to rubble. The two heroes dive from the truck and swim underwater, picking up a loose girder and using to pry apart the rocks the trip is balanced on, causing them to crumble and sending it crashing down. Killraven and M’Shulla continue their journey back to their base on Staten Island….

Meanwhile, at LaGuardia Airport, Martian Master 4 listens as his henchman, Warlord, explains how he has planted clues to draw Killraven and his Freemen into a trap. Warlord was critically injured when Killraven escaped from the compound and he suffered through the prosthetic research experiments which rebuilt him into a cyborg, vowing that Killraven will suffer as he has suffered before dying….

That night, Killraven leads his Freemen to LaGuardia airport, cutting through the fence, snaking into the building, until they come to the arsenal. But Killraven senses something is wrong. And then the trap is sprung, Warlord gloating how he set up his enemy Killraven. But the hero fights back, discovering that Warlord’s cybernetic arm gives him increased strength as he hurls massive bits of machinery at him, beating him senseless with his troops drawing their guns on the Freemen, telling them their destiny is the Arena of Mutants….
