Synopsis

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #3 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

The villains plotting against T’Challa hire Death Tiger to kill their king….

The Avengers Quinjet carrying Black Panther, Hawkeye, Goliath, Wasp, and Vision approaches the Pacific island where A.I.M.’s experiments with the Super-Adaptoid have gone wrong, releasing an army of Adaptoids against the natives. Nick Fury had explained that the island houses a main base which was the command center and a Site B where the duplicates were created; Goliath refused to take the mission unless Vision was released from SHIELD custody. They fly over the ruined Site B and see the army of Adaptoids cutting a swath through the jungle and laying waste native villages. Six of the mindless monsters spot the Quinjet and attack, knocking the craft out of the sky. Goliath says that he and Wasp will check on the natives in the monsters’ path while the others will strike at the main base to find the original Super-Adaptoid. Hawkeye steers the damaged Quinjet into a hanger at the enemy base and the three Avengers do battle with A.I.M.’s agents…

In the jungle, Hank tells Jan to do reconnaissance from the sky, ignoring her suggestions. She spies the horde of Adaptoids coming their way and Hank tells her to join the others while he stops the advancing monsters by himself….

Vision enters the main reactor and disrupts the operation, causing an overload while they search for the Super-Adaptoid which has escaped from A.I.M. custody and is running loose in the base….

Out in the jungle, Goliath psychs himself up for the coming fight, reminding himself that the enemy isn’t human and he doesn’t need to hold back….

Review / Commentaries

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #3 Review by (March 31, 2020)

Review: Okay, now we’ve got a new plot going on to expand the original and there’s a lot of violence in this issue with a bunch of androids running amok (cue Sarah Sanderson) and the Avengers running an actual mission which the original lacked. There’s a lot of heroics here and it’s pretty well done, integrating nicely with the existing plot and setting up some of Hank’s problems.

Comments: Issues #1-4 take place immediately after the events of AVENGERS #58. First appearance of Death Tiger, whose comics career is limited to this miniseries.
