Hulk pounds the mountain where Tyrannus and the Flame of Life stand, and discovers a metallic wall underneath, protected by a seemingly unbreakable force field. Tyrannus reveals that the Flame wielder is a machine built by Deviants eons ago to repel the attacks of Celestials.

Unable to pierce the force field, Hulk leaps to the top, but Tyrannus creates a new force field to repel him. Hulk breaks in. Tyrannus shots the Hulk on the forehead with a mind mine that knocks him out.

Tyrannus wears a war harness, and the Flame generates a gigantic metallic arm, which he commands. Using the massive arm, Tyrannus grabs Tulak (the elder man who leads the El Dorado people), and kills him by siphoning his life energy. The rest of the people flee to the caves.

Unseen, the Goldbug releases the mind mine from the Hulk who attacks Tyrannus once again. Tyrannus joins the Flame, desperate to stop Jade Jaws and procede with his plans. A strong earthquake seals the caves where the El Dorado people hid.

Hulk is as mad as ever, his strength reaching limits perhaps unseen before, finally breaking the pit that contains the Flame with his bare hands, causing a gigantic explosion.
