One of Marvel's most popular characters debuts in this very comic, the Wolverine! Curiosity: While this comic was drawn by Herb Trimpe, the looks of the character were designed by John Romita, Sr.

Hulk leaps all the way to the Quebec woods, and is detected by the Canadian government which sends in their newest secret asset, Weapon X!

Before he arrives, the Hulk dwells among the woods, fighting off wolves, until he hears a voice in his head, calling him. Such unnerves the man monster who finds the source in Marie Cartier, a lady that plays it nice, soothing the Hulk. But unbeknownst to the Hulk, she wants to transfer the curse of the Wendigo onto Jade Jaws to cure his brother, Paul Cartier.

When the Wendigo shows up, Hulk believes Marie is in danger and attacks the white fur monster (who he met and fought in Incredible Hulk #162). The Wendigo proves to be a formidable opponent, withstanding every attack by the Hulk, and delivering powerful ones himself!

As the two powerhouses are tangled in their fight, the Canadian agent known as Weapon X finally arrives: And he is the Wolverine!

Also in this story: Thunderbolt Ross, Glenn Talbot, Betty Ross.
