Ka-Zar and the Warbound awaken in the Sakaarian village to find the Hulk missing. Under questioning, the Red Elder confesses to making a deal: turning Hulk over to the savage Miek to stop the bugs' attacks on his people. Miek arrives hoping for peace but Ka-Zar, Skaar, and the Warbound (Korg, Elloe Kaifi, Brood) put up a fight against his buggy minions....

Elsewhere, Hulk awakens from a dream that he is making love to Betty to find himself chained to a stone X and watching insects hatch from the bodies of their long dead hosts. Weak and unable to break free, Hulk becomes Bruce Banner and easily slips his bonds and tries to outrun the gruesome bugs. Attacked by a prehistoric bird he must go Hulk again to fight it. He encounters his allies and discovers that there are eggs hatching in his back; Skaar tries to remove them but they are connected to his heart. Flying bugs pick Hulk up and carry him back to Miek's cave where he fantasizes again about a seductive Betty while Miek brainwashes and puts a metal chestplate on Hulk to protect the larva now growing inside his body. And now Hulk belongs to Miek....
