Incredible Hulks #634 Review by (October 1, 2018)

Review: And the Hulk gets his big wish—and it's scarier than anything we could have imagined. A truly apocalyptic issue is enough to induce nightmares in us mere mortals. And there's still one more issue to go, in which I'm sure everything returns to normal. It does, [gulp] doesn't it?

Comments: Issues #631-634 feature interlocking covers.

Incredible Hulks #634 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Tyrannus has invaded the Dark Dimension, intending to wrest the kingdom from Umar, aided by Fin Fang Foom and especially by Red She-Hulk who takes on her ex the Hulk. Hulk has to protect visitors Amadeus Cho, Doctor Strange, and Dr Sofia Di Cosimo from the fallout of the battle, thunderclapping FFF into smashing through the barrier keeping the Mindless Ones out. Umar has to be persuaded by Sofia not to destroy her, Amadeus, and Strange and Hulk gives them till dawn to leave before he unleashes his full power against the invaders. Hulk assembles his army: goblins of the realm, his foes ArmChedon, Bi-Beast, and Wendigo released from the dungeon, and Red, kicking Tyrannus to the curb. Strange opens a portal to escape but Amadeus kicks him into it, while he and Sofia remain. And so the entire world is destroyed and all are killed...

...and brought back again. A combination of wishes by Hulk and his enemies has created Hulk's perfect realm: trapped in the Dark Dimension, eternally battling his ex-wife Betty/Red, free from fear of hurting her, free from fear of his own rage—at peace in his own way. And Amadeus, Sofia, and the villains are trapped there with him, eternally dying and being resurrected, except for Tyrannus who can escape with Fin Fang Foom... conquer Earth, now that Hulk is gone....
