Marvel Universe vs the Avengers (2013 series) #1

Review: Jonathan Maberry wraps up his grim trilogy on the end of the human race through a pathogen that turns everyone into cannibalistic predators. The first series, MU VS THE PUNISHER showed us the dismal aftermath of the plague in Manhattan, leaving Punisher the only one alive to slaughter the infected. The second miniseries, MU VS WOLVERINE moved back in time, showing us how the heroes reacted to the dark situation, attempting to turn the tide of infection but eventually discovering that the situation was bigger than they could handle. And now this one gives the heroes a dubious hope to cling to with Doctor Doom the savior of the world—or is he? We knew this could never end well and we were right as this miniseries leads directly into the first nihilistic one. I need a break. I think I’ll go read SQUIRREL GIRL or NOT BRAND ECCH.
