Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Thor: God of Thunder #9 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

In the far future on the Black World of Gorr, the God Butcher assures his wife that his Godbomb is almost finished and soon the universe will be rid of gods and then he will truly live….

In space the three Thors are debating a plan of attack when Gorr surprises them: "You should have brought more Thors." Young Thor, Avenger Thor, and King Thor leap at their foe, who responds with the thick black tentacles of his own weapon. King Thor unleashes a blast of lightning which slams Gorr into a planet far away, and for the first time in millennia the God Butcher knows fear. He hurls chunks of rock back at the Thors while ordering his Black Berserkers to slaughter the enslaved gods, their shed blood increasing Gorr’s power. He sends a giant black serpent to swallow the two elder Thors but the youngest hero arrives riding a starshark and hammers the villain down to the planet’s surface. Meanwhile, King Thor pries the dragon’s jaws open wide enough to allow the Avenger to escape and so enter the battle against their enemy. Suddenly cracks start opening in the damaged world and Avenger Thor, realizing this moon is inhabited, ceases fighting to rescue the people. Gorr taunts the Thors and they unite to unleash their full fury upon their common foe, and together they go plummeting to the planet’s surface in an apocalyptic explosion. When the dust clears---only Gorr is standing….
