Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Thor #184 Synopsis by Marvel Comics
Thor arrives in Asgard to find fear overwhelming everyone. Odin shows Thor a void in space in the shape of a giant hand that comes from the World Beyond, eliminating stars and engulfing all life, then tells him the Odinsword has begun to move from its sheath. Odin cannot fathom the enemy behind all this but is haunted by the word "Infinity."

Odin then shows Thor a mysterious silent figure who has appeared in Asgard and who is, Thor discovers, imperious to attack. Odin leaves Thor to defend Asgard as he journeys to the World Beyond to investigate. The Silent One follows him.

With Odin gone, Loki flees his exile, summons an army of Trolls and Storm Giants, captures Balder and attacks Asgard. Thor and Sif vanquish them and save Balder.

Odin appears in an image, warning that the World Beyond draws closer, but is apparently overwhelmed even as he calls out "Infinity."
