Synopsis / Summary / Plot

What If #45 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
TIH #1: Bruce was unable to throw Rick Jones into the trench, but was able to protect him with his own body from the gamma rays. This resulted in a link between the two. Banner became the Hulk and Rick was treated for radiation poisoning. Thunderbolt Ross eventually discovered the existence of a link between Jones and the green giant. So he decided to give non-fatal electric shocks to the boy to inflict pain and defeat the Hulk. Though Glenn Talbot disagreed with the procedure, the shocks were administrated. Hulk felt the unbearable pain and went to destroy the army base. But Rick's condition got worse and he died. The link caused the Hulk to become homicidal. Desperately, Ross summons the Fantastic Four for help. But Jade Jaws kills the Thing and the Human Torch. So Iron-Man and Thor show up. But Tony Stark is killed too. The Hulk turned his attention to the God of Thunder, whose mystic mallet had fallen from his hands. Close to turn into his human self, Thor was pushed to kill the Hulk to save himself. He was able to doing it by snapping the Hulk's neck while the Hulk was unprotected. To grant Bruce a peaceful afterlife, Thor takes Banner to Valhalla, an afterworld for the honored dead. Ross and Talbot decide to turn themselves into the authorities.
