In
the Outer Circle’s lair, Winter Soldier has just fired a bullet through
Captain America’s shoulder and into The Revolution of the Outer Circle, killing the
latter. Cap tries to persuade Bucky that he got what he came for—revenge—and now
they can go home. But Bucky, who has just learned that his entire life had been
manipulated by the Outer Circle, seizes on Revolution’s words that Bucky can
take his place among the bad guys once Rev is dead and tells Cap he can only destroy
the Outer Circle from within. This stalemate leads to a fight between Cap and
Bucky that ranges throughout the complex and ends with Cap hanging off a
precipice, holding onto Bucky’s metal arm. Bucky has a brief flashback to their
happy early days and presses the stud that releases the arm. Cap plummets and
lands on a beach, recovering after a while. Bucky returns to the villains’
meeting room and, in a burst of emotion, smashes the giant table in two….
Later,
Bucky replaces his arm with a spare, dresses in an outfit with a cape, and sits
down among the Outer Circle as the New Revolution….
