In Shanghai, China, Black Widow is
hit by a car and rolls onto a sidewalk; looking up, she faces a man with a gun
pointed at her and a sword at his side….
A day earlier, Isaiah Ross was
having misgivings about this job but Natasha said that sometimes one must deal
with the lesser of two evils. She went to Shanghai, met with Mr. Lin who wanted
her to rescue his son who had been kidnapped by a band of smugglers who live on
a boat. So Natasha swam out to the boat, killed a pair of guards and discovered
Lin’s son dead and the craft deserted. She then knew it was a trap and dived
overboard as the boat exploded.
In New York, a man named Aames
visited Isaiah to ask about restitution for property destroyed by Natasha.
Isaiah declined to discuss his client’s business. After Aames left, Isaiah
asked his assistant Renee to put a tracer on the man’s car….
In Shanghai, Nat returned to Lim’s home
to discover he and his guards had been killed. A man with a katana attacked her
and she dodged then leaped out of a window, landing on a car hood, distracting
the driver so that he crashed, putting Nat in the position the story started
with….
Isaiah listened in on Aames’
conversation with two colleagues as they talked about blackmailing Natasha and
killing Isaiah as leverage….
Natasha’ nemesis introduces himself
as the Iron Scorpion, brother of a man assassinated by Natasha years earlier
and seeking revenge. The police arrive, distracting Iron Scorpion long enough
for Nat to get away. They fight in the street, Nat recalls having killed the
brother a second after he had murdered a man, mentioning her only regret was
hesitating. Nat pushes her foe in front of a truck. The man is injured but
escapes….
Back in New York she reports to
Isaiah, telling him that they will see no money more than their advance. She
asks how his week went and he says he just took care of business. Then we learn
that he killed the three people conspiring against Nat…..
Natasha goes home, greets her
neighbor Ana and does not let the cat in, not wanting to make another mistake….
