Synopsis

Incredible Hulk (2000 series) #102 synopsis by reviewer Julio MM
Rating: 5 stars

At last—the final showdown! The tyrannical Red King faces off against the unstoppable Green Scar, the Hulk! The arena trembles as the two titans clash, but this isn’t the same Hulk who arrived in chains. This is the war-hardened champion of Sakaar, forged in fire and fury, and he’s here to settle the score!

The Red King throws everything he’s got at Jade Jaws—advanced tech, brute force, and dirty tricks—but the Hulk is stronger than ever. With each blow, the tyrant’s empire crumbles. Desperate, the Red King activates a seismic weapon designed to tear Sakaar apart by shifting the planet’s tectonic plates. That’s right—he’d rather destroy the world than lose it!

But the Hulk doesn’t flinch. In one of his most jaw-dropping feats of strength, the Green Scar dives into a sea of molten lava, grabs the planet’s plates with his bare hands (!!!), and pulls them back together—saving Sakaar from total annihilation!

The Red King tries to flee, but Hulk delivers a thunderous punch that sends him flying into the wilds, where he’s seemingly torn apart by a savage Wildbot. The people erupt in cheers. The tyrant is gone. The Green Scar has triumphed. Sakaar has a new savior!

But Hulk’s heroism doesn’t end there. In a selfless act of compassion, he allows the Spike Fathers—parasitic creatures once feared across the planet—to feed on his own body. The pain is immense, but Hulk endures it to prevent the younger Spikes from attacking innocent civilians. His sacrifice buys peace for all.

Witnessing this, Hiroim—priest, warrior, and loyal Warbound—bows his head and says the words that echo through history: **“May the prophet preserve you, King Hulk.”**

Incredible Hulk (2000 series) #102 Review by (February 15, 2010)
One of the very best stories portraying Hulk as both a hero and an incredibly strong character.
