Synopsis

Incredible Hulk, The (1968 series) #387 synopsis by Julio MM
Rating: 4 stars

After a fierce and emotionally charged battle, the Hulk manages to break through to Sabra, convincing her that he’s not the enemy. He explains the dire situation: the boy Max Meer, foretold to become a future tyrant, is being targeted by Achilles, who has been ordered to eliminate him. Hulk’s mission, however, is to protect the child.

Sabra, shaken but resolute, agrees to help. Together, they track down Achilles, but before they can intervene, a crowd—unaware of the stakes and blindly pursuing Rick Jones—accidentally tramples Max, leaving him critically injured. The boy is rushed to the hospital, his fate hanging by a thread.

With their missions colliding and the situation spiraling, Hulk and Achilles return to the Mount, each carrying the weight of failure and uncertainty. Meanwhile, Greta Rabbin, daughter of the Jewish president, remains at Max’s bedside, quietly watching over him.

Alone, Greta reveals a chilling truth: she is the source of Max’s mental powers. Her influence has shaped his potential from the beginning. Whispering to herself, she vows to use those powers—not to save the world, but to hide herself within it and dominate it from the shadows. The prophecy may not have been about Max alone… but about the one who made him.
