Incredible Hulk #1 Review by (October 26, 2014)
I think Jason Aaron is a talented writer. And I have a high esteem for Marc Silvestri. In the Aaron interview that is included in this issue, the writer refers to Silvestri as a legend. Yes, I accord. And because of that, I was so disappointed about the artwork in this new Hulk book. Bluntly, this is Silvestri at his worst. And the story is like, ahem? So, when you team up two greats to do something, the outcome is not always good. And this Hulk issue is a sad example of that.

Comments: Issue bannered “Shattered Heroes.” First appearance of Commander Amanda von Doom (no relation). Issue includes a list of essential Hulk trades and interviews with writer Jason Aaron and Red Hulk scribe Jeff Parker.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Incredible Hulk #1 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
The Incredible Hulk is living deep underground. He dwells with an underground race in a cavernous city. The Hulk kills huge monsters to provide them with food. They love him. But the Hulk prefers to sit alone at the top of a hill than to have dinner with them.

The race's nice and wise elder tries convincing the Hulk to come join them in their festivities. But the Hulk says he rather stays watching since "they" will come.

But the Hulk eventually does as the elder says. Kids jump all over him. Hulk starts to relax and smile. And at that exact moment, "they" show up...

This is a group of armed machines lead by someone wearing a metallic suit. The machines use powerful sonic disruptors to knock the Hulk temporarily. But he reacts and breaks them apart. The person in the suit finally shows her face: she is a gorgeous US government agent named Amanda von Doom (no relation). Her mission is not to kill the Hulk, but to ask for his aid in ridding the world of a new terrible menace: Bruce Banner

After learning that the Hulk and Banner are now split, the story takes us to an isolated jungle island where two large speaking wild pigs, named 26 and 27, catch diverse animals (like monkeys and octopuses) for "Father". They are referring about Banner.

The two creatures walk to an abandoned base that has a radioactivity warning sign outside of it. This is where Banner has a lab. A large gorilla with greenish fur is laying on a table. The large ape is alive. But Banner is upset. He says his creatures aren't "right" because none of them are like the Hulk.
