Story Name:

Secret War Book Three

Synopsis

Secret War #3 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3.5 stars

Peter Parker is having flashback to a massive hero versus villain free-for-all that he doesn’t remember. At the hospital Captain America advises Jessica Jones and Danny (Iron Fist) Rand to move Luke Cage to the Baxter Building for his safety. Instead, Jessica contacts Matt Murdock…. Daredevil returns home to find Spider-Man in his apartment, come to talk about bizarre dreams about a battle he doesn’t recall. Matt checks his messages and learns that Luke Cage is in the hospital. He and Spidey are on their way there when they are attacked by the villains Scorcher and Diamondback (not Cap’s old girlfriend but an upstart trying to cash in on her reputation). They were sent to kill Daredevil but the presence of Spider-Man takes them by surprise. After taking a beating the two baddies retreat into the distance. DD and Spidey head to the hospital where they find Captain America telling Nick Fury how he was attacked at home. Suddenly a cadre of villains arrives, ready for battle….

Additional material:

A seven-page text article of a conversation between Captain America and the Contessa.

A full-color version of the opening splash page, showing the secret battle.

Four pages of character sketches by Gabriele Dell’Otto.

A character guide to the final double-page splash.

A four-page tie-in to THE PULSE #6 and 7.

Secret War #3 Review by (December 26, 2013)
Review: And we get to issue #3 and the gritty spy drama has vanished, replaced by heroes yelling at one another and a lot of flashbacks to fights we haven’t seen. The art is still good but doesn’t fit this standard superhero tale, which seems to be heading in a different direction than expected. A more conventional direction.
