Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Thor #137 Synopsis by Marvel Comics
As Sif demonstrates her fighting prowess to Thor, the Rock Trolls attack, seeking to capture Thor's hammer. Thor repels them but the trolls abduct Sif.

Thor follows underground to the Troll kingdom where Ulik confronts him. The trolls bring Sif to their king Geirrodur. Knowing Thor becomes Don Blake on Earth, Geirrodur plans to ambush him there. He gases Sif unconscious, placing her in the Tunnel of Wind Currents to be taken to Earth.

As Thor and Ulik battle, Geirrodur teleports Ulik away. Appearing to Thor, Geirrodur tells him Ulik holds Sif hostage on Earth. He gives Thor the choice of defending Asgard or rescuing Sif. Thor chooses Sif and heads to Earth. With Thor gone, Geirrodur opens the invasion shaft leading into the heart of Asgard.

On their way back to Asgard, Thor and the Warriors Three come upon a man staked out in the desert to die. Hogun recognizes him as his countryman Saguta and they cut him down. The dying man tells Hogun he was left to perish by Mogul, the conqueror of their people, to serve as a warning to other rebels. Hogun demands to know where to find Mogul but Saguta dies without another word. Berserk, Hogun calls out to his enemy to come and face him—and the evil sorcerer Mogul appears in a cloud of smoke. Thor approaches the villain as Hogun demands the right of first combat. The wizard transforms his sword into a deadly serpent to hold the Thunder God back, Mogul then summons his mighty Jinn Devil to carry him to safety, shouting a challenge to the heroes to follow him to the Mystic Mountain, Hogun vows to destroy the enemy of his people, while Thor, Fandral, and Volstagg promise to aid him in his quest.
