Doctor Druid, Master of the Unknown, finds Bruce Banner in an alley and asks him for the Hulk's help. According to Druid, Hulk's strength is the only hope to prevent an ancient villain mage called Maha Yogi from conquering or destroying the world. Bruce offers his help but refuses to turn into the Hulk.

Banner takes Druid to his apartment and introduces him to the beautiful housekeeper, April Sommers. She can't help but feel chills about such a strange man and realizes how little she knows about her new tenant, Bruce Banner...

Later that day, Druid drives Banner to Yogi's mansion in New Jersey, where some mercenaries attack them. Extreme tension turns Banner into Hulk, who defeats the goons easily. Both heroes reach Yogi, protected by Mongu, a tall strongman bodyguard who offers to slay the visitors into pieces. But Yogi refuses and with his mental powers, tries turning the Hulk against Druid. Druid uses his mental skills to convince the man-monster to disobey. Unable to tolerate two voices in his head, Hulk hits his forehead on the ground, knocking himself out. Mongu advances onto Druid...

Meanwhile, Glenn Talbot, with the consent of his wife Betty Ross, boards a plane to take some time off his marital and military duties.

Also, in this story: Thunderbolt Ross, Doc Samson, Clay Quartermain. In flashbacks: Thor, Bloodstone, the X-Men, Merlin.
