Squirrel Girl tells the Avengers oral history project that being nanny for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones’ baby Dani is a very strange occupation….

At Avengers Mansion, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Wong were watching Wolverine spar with Iron Fist. Wolverine wins the battle and then he calls out Squirrel Girl for his next challenger. Luke objects but Jessica wants to see what Doreen can do. Doreen takes down Logan and then turns her back on him to cheer herself and he grabs her by the neck—and then she suggests he turn around and he is surrounded by squirrels….

She then relates how she was walking through Washington Square when she heard a cry for help. She sees a couple of men attacking a woman in an alley and rushes over to take them down easily. But the woman stares into the sky at an entire squadron of Sin’s Nazi war machines. She takes on a couple, able to scale the machine to defeat the operator and skip off before he can respond. She dashes back to the Mansion where the Avengers are preparing to evacuate. Jessica leaves baby Dani with Doreen and they all leave. The building goes into lockdown as a half dozen battle suits surround the building and open fire….

Review: A nice little showcase for Squirrel Girl, thumping on Logan and then battling giant war machines. And this is accompanied by some explicit character bits, related directly to the reader. Yeah, it’s Bendis. We’re used to him.

Comments: FEAR ITSELF tie-in: first part of story takes place before the event happens; the second part comes during Sin’s siege of Manhattan in FEAR ITSELF #4 and simultaneously with AVENGERS (2010) #14.
