The Red Skull, in Captain America’s body, observes events on the isle of the Exiles with a growing irritation that his minions have still not captured Cap in the Red Skull’s body. The Skull then realizes that Cap could have removed the mask and changed his clothes but he still expects the Exiles to corner him on that small island. Where, at that moment, Sam Wilson has his falcon, Redwing, spying on the enemy, in preparation for his and Cap’s action against them. Sam dons his Falcon hero costume and Cap gives him a crash course in the martial arts. Meanwhile, back in New York, the Red Skull is awoken in his downtown hotel room by the invasion of Captain America fans wanting to see their idol. The Skull, to ruin Cap’s reputation, insults the fans and escapes from the hotel. Elsewhere in the city, Rick Jones, believing Cap has rejected him as a partner, tears up his Avengers card and heads off on his own. Simultaneously, at A.I.M. headquarters, the sinister scientists have managed to discover a way to render the Cosmic Cube powerless. Finally, back on the island, Cap and the Falcon tackle the Exiles. Though outnumbered and with Cap’s reflexes a little slow in the Red Skull’s body, they hold their own with the aid of Redwing. When Cadavus trains his murder chair on the heroes, the island’s natives rise up and pelt the villains with stones, driving them off. As the Red Skull watches he decides that the time has come for Captain America to die!

Captain America #118 Review by (February 15, 2010)
Rick Jones’ final appearance as Cap’s sidekick; he goes from here to CAPTAIN MARVEL #17 where he becomes that hero’s alter ego. Conveniently, only one of the Exiles carries a gun, which is absurd even by Marvel Comics standards. Does Captain America usually have such an enthusiastic fanbase? Fifth of a six-part story.
